WHAT A YEAR!!!

Thanks to absolutely everyone that got involved this year from volunteers, parents, corporate sponsors and above all else, the climbers!

We had a massive 69 climbers who achieved the full 10 climbs with a large number of people who did over 5 climbs. The weather was awful but the spirit at the whole event remained incredibly high! The fundraising efforts have meant that £50,000 has been handed over to LATCH and we will be able to update you very shortly on how that will be spent so watch this space. Put it this way, the project LATCH have in mind will be a first in Europe and this is all down to you!

Our first awards ceremony went very well with awards for climbers, volunteers, the fundraisers (sponsored by EE) and our first Ten-Y-Fantastic recipients for those who showed true Ten Y Fan spirit – well done to Danni, Emma, Gareth and of course young Lucy. We hope you had a great night. Next year will be bigger, better and likely to involve an 80’s disco!! Keep an eye on the website for more photos and videos of the night.

It is with great pleasure that we can formally announce that Michael Sheen is ambassador for Ten Y Fan. Michael is a superb role model for the event and is passionate about supporting local charities so we couldn’t be happier to have him support the cause. Not only that but EE will be our main sponsor moving forward as well. Allison and her team in Merthyr Tydfil regularly support local charities and are keen to help Ten Y Fan. We are really looking forward to a cracking 2017!

We hope you have some great memories from the event and look forward to seeing you all again next year. The date for next year’s event will be announced at some point in October and is likely to be held in May next year as we need to avoid any blistering heat! We will also announce the chosen charity that we would like to raise money for….could we generate over £100,000 for next year….?!

See you soon and thank you again for a truly memorable few months

We have finally decided to take the plunge and add a blog to the site. We always wanted an easy way to share information with visitors and we are very excited to start this journey. Keep coming back to this site and check for updates right here on the blog
